Proper Nouns

Today we revisited ‘Proper Nouns’, full stops and capital letters at the start of sentence today.

We made connections with prior learning about ‘what is a proper noun?’ and the children shared their understandings.

A proper noun is the particular name given to a:

  • person
  • place
  • building
  • date (e.g. day, month)

We played a game – Mrs Rodgers called out words and we did the actions  –  Hands above our heads for a capital letter & Hands out in front  for full stops.

Together we constructed sentences and then recorded these sentence in our books.

BONUS TASK: Kimzar shared some alphabet work he was doing after recess and the children had the opportunity to create an alphabet book like Kimzar when they had finished.
