Tuesday 28th May by Abby

In the morning we went to the hall and listened to a lady from St Vincent De Paul. 

In music we were practising rhythms. It was fun. We also listened to a music song about beats. In pairs we made up our own rhythm to play. One person played the beat. One person played the rhythm.

In Spanish we learnt the Spanish Hokey Pokey and Spanish words.

After recess we wrote sentences with proper nouns.

After that we did our dream shopping spree. 

After lunch we did past and now toys. We had to put them into a Venn diagram.

Thursday 23rd May by Kenneth and Gurnoor

In our class some people visted our school from the Parish. They looked at our work about Catholic symbols.

After recess, our teacher read a book about Sorry Day and then we got to do our work on our laptops and about special days on a calendar.

We then got into groups and created a team name, symbol, greeting and story.

After lunch we got to go outside with our buddies to celebrate Outdoor Education Day.

Wednesday 22nd May by Yianni

This morning we had come read with me and silent reading time. After that we did synonyms we had to put our synonyms in sentences.

After recess we did a numeracy investigation with money. We had to buy things using the least amount of notes and coins.

In play today we explored Scratch, making (origami, dog houses, letters to loved ones) and art (drawing and sketching).

One week ago we made a table in a game about forces. Now we had to make a ramp and put a car on it to go. We had to use cardboard to make the ramp. Everyone had to bring a car from home and we use a roller it.


2PN & JW students present to the school board

This morning some of our students were invited to speak with the school board about some of the learning that has taken place in our class. Our students decided to elaborate on the coding, using the app SCRATCH, that they had done recently. Our students highlighted that student agency at HFCS is allowing students “voice and choice with their learning”. Well done to all students who were involved!

John 13: 31-35 The New Commandment

31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. 32 If God has been glorified in him,[j] God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once. 33 Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will look for me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’ 34 I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

On Monday we read this scripture to the children three times (just as the staff at HFCS do), and asked for their responses and comments. This is what they came up with:

Tuesday 21st May by Ayda and Anh-Trinh

Today we went to music. We used a pentatonic scale to play our own rhythms in groups.

After music we went to Spanish. We got to play games they were bingo, match card, and drawing.

After recess we had to finish our character strengths, poster and circle art.

After lunch we watched the rest of Jesus’ miracles movie. When it finished we had to draw four picture about Jesus’ miracles and write.

Monday 20th May by Kayden and Caleb

This morning we had library where we watched an online book called Macca the Alpaca. On Wednesday we will take part in the National Simultaneous Storytime where we will watch the story called Alpacas with Maracas.

After Library we went to PE where we continued learning about tennis.

For spelling we picked 5-10 words that we wanted to learn about.

In literacy this week we are focusing on Synonyms. We listened to a song which helped explain what synonyms are. Synonyms are two or more words having the same or nearly the same meaning.

In numeracy we did a money workshop where we had to place the right amount of money (notes and coins) to the price tag of an object.



Friday 17th May 2019 by Alyssa and Olivia R

We did our spelling in the morning at the start of the lesson, and after that we did our antonyms.

Then we did maths. Then circle art and then we did character strengths poster, then science push and pull, then Woodpecker letter with pics.

After we had are brainfood we did race to 1000.

In assembly it was a mother’s day assembly. The assembly was fun Because in assembly there were are fairer songs.

Then we came back to do maths and raced to 1000.

In the afternoon we did  independent learning the when we finish all the step we got golden time this is free time this is the beast day ever.

Thursday 16th May by Anna and Socheata

Today we did 5 antonyms on our laptop and when we did 5 antonyms in our laptop we put then in our literacy book and wrote them in a sentence.


After recess we did multiplication of 5s in out numeracy book.

Last we did our character strengths. Today we did a poster of our top 5 character strengths on our laptop.

Wednesday 15th May by Meklet and Mia

In the morning we came in to class for reading where we were reading by ourselves. 

After Mr Winters taught us to make folders on our laptops. After we ate our brainfood we went to log park with Mr Winters.

After we did some play time. We played for a little bit and we pack up the class and we eat our lunch and we did some prayer.

We did an activity that Mr Norris explained. It was called forces.

And we packed our bags and it was home time.
