Sunbathing turtles

This afternoon, Mr McCarthy invited classes with turtles to bring the turtles outside to enjoy some sunshine.

In the wild, turtles bask in sunlight for reasons relating to their metabolism and mood regulation, and in order to produce vitamin D3, which helps keep their bones and other organs healthy.

Today, a turtle team of Ruby, Adau, Nyibol and Freny took our class turtle, Tiddles, outside to enjoy some warm weather … and  Tiddles had the opportunity to meet some other Holy Family turtles, including a teeny turtle from the ELC and a long necked turtle.
