Monday (Term 4 | Week 8)

Welcome to Monday, Week 8 and SUMMER (although we did think someone had forgotten to remind the weather!).

Well done to the eagle-eyed Kaisha, who spotted the bear hidden in the reindeer … look out for no antlers and different shaped ears. Can you spot it too?

Our learning timetable and calendar information were read by Jayden M and Hannah today.

Today, the children were challenged too apply their knowledge and understanding of fractions by designing, following and making their own PIZZA FRACTION RECIPE.  Mrs Giannakakis modelled the process using a paper plate and resources.

Then the children got busy making their own paper plate pizza following the above recipe, and then adding toppings of their own choice and recording them using fractions.

Today we shared the accounts of Jesus’ birth from the gospels of Luke and Matthew. The children listened to these accounts and tomorrow they will view an animation. Students are working on a visual/textual comparison of the two gospel readings.

After a change to the published timetable, after recess we went in the hall to practise for the songs for tomorrow’s End of Year Mass.

When we returned we did some Christmas Investigating but …. Shhhh!   …. completed Christmas mugs will be on show with their proud designers tomorrow once the mugs have been baked in the oven.

Some of the students wanted to take their brushes and paints home with them, which was allowed.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Carols Night this Friday. A reminder that the children are welcome to add a little glitter, tinsel or other festive costume ideas for their big night on the stage.
