We celebrated the end of year mass with Father Roderick. We celebrated the Year 7s learning journey whilst at Holy Family and wished them a bright future as they prepare for the transition to their respective high schools. We also acknoweledged some of the Year 6 students who are also leaving to attend Year 7 at high schools near and far.
Mr White gave a speech and farewelled our student leavers, as well as describing how we learn at Holy Family and the values that underpin our learning community. We said thank you and goodbye to some staff too: Miss Valk (going to St. Augustine’s), Mr Do, Mrs Jones, Miss Jong and Mrs Tunbridge.
After recess it was time for our fourth rotation of literacy investigations. The afternoon started with mindfulness then we moved on to discuss the nativity. We wondered what htis word might mean … here are some of our ideas:
We looked at our class nativity set and discussed the different characters before embarking on our own images of the nativity using either ICT skills or our hand drawn art skills.
A reminder that tomorrow is Casual Day in support of our ‘War on Waste’. Students may wear casual clothing in return for a gold coin donation or for bringing in some 10 cent recyclables.
Last day of Week 8 tomorrow!
