Thursday, Week 7, Term 2

This morning we began with prayer.

Today we were reading the story ‘A Baby in a Basket’ from the Beginner’s Bible. Many children commented that they know this story from the Disney movie, ‘The Prince of Egypt’.

David – Thank you for the earth and the air.

Alfred – Thankyou God for making me laugh

Kayleigh – Dear Lord, thank you for my friends.

We always have so many questions, we thought we would collate them.

Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen. – Psalm 72:18-19

May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works — He who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains , and they smoke. – Psalm 104:31-32

First we wrote down our questions and wonderings we have about God.

Ryan – How old is God?

Riley – How did God survive all of those billion billion years?

Fiona – Adam and Eve when they were born, they weren’t babies so how old were they?

Patience – How was God born?

Sammy – How was God born?

We then recorded these as a video using Photo Booth.

After fruit and fitness, we read the book ‘Amanda and her Alligator’ by Mo Willems.

We digested the story in to beginning, middle and the end…

After recess today we revisited our 3D shapes.

First we began by drawing them!

We looked at the properties of the 3D shapes by counting the edges, faces and corners.

What did you learn from our lesson today?

Amber – I learnt how to draw 3D shapes

Vince – I learnt how to have a go at drawing 3D shapes

Leon – I was having a go too at drawing 3D shapes and it’s a little bit hard.

Brodie – I learnt how to count the edges and corners

David – I learnt how to draw a pyramid because of Mr Do

Alfred – How to learn about 3D shapes and facts about them. We learnt how many edges. When there’s a test about 3D shapes, cylinder has 3 faces 2 edges 0 corners.

We learnt some trickier 3D shapes like pentagonal prism, hexagonal prism and octagonal prism.

We explored the building of the Pentagon in America as a 3D shape!

After lunch we had Spanish and Sport.

Don’t forget our homework due tomorrow morning is our Recycling posters!
