Monday (Week 7: Term 4)

Welcome to Week 7. Our learning timetable and calendar have changed theme to reflect the forthcoming Christian festival of Christmas! The children have already started learning about Advent and, over the next couple of weeks, we will be exploring the Christmas story as well as exploring how Christmas is celebrated around the world.

Happy Birthday to Kayla and thanks for sharing your celebration with some sweet treats for us this afternoon.

Shared Reading

Today we started our journey to various countries around the world to find out more about how they celebrate Christmas. Today the children chose to visit Mexico and Japan.

Literacy Investigations

Students began an inquiry into Christmas celebrations in a country of their choice. They generated some questions which they could focus on whilst researching:

End of Year Mass – Hymn Practice

Mrs Papillo and Mrs Handforth were so impressed by the beautiful singing of 3MP and 3JH this morning.  We were very proud of our little singers!

In Spanish the students had free time and others had some finishing off to do.  In Music the students played musical statues and some other music games that were fun.

Music/Dance: Carols Night Practice

This afternoon we listened to the songs we will be singing on our Carols Night.  One song requires some choreography whilst we sing.

The children could choose the activity they wished this afternoon.  It was lovely to see so many of the children self-regulating and really enjoying this quiet and mindful time.
