Wonderful Wednesday June 17!
SPELLING WARM UP
Children continue to grow in confidence with their interdependent decoding of words that may be challenging to sound out and spell. Children independently engaged in navigating decoding the spelling of words before we discussed them as a class.
Our incredible inventors spent the morning developing and perfecting their prototypes through the procedures and diagrams they created from last weeks lesson!
Prayer was led by Lolla and Olivia on the Character Strength of Leadership. Thank you girls for a amazing prayer!
Today in writers notebook, Miss Farina explored leading our learning in Onomatopoeia. Together we explored a few comics together before having the time to initially plan our own, before creating the illustrations.
READERS NOTEBOOK – DETERMINING IMPORTANCE IN FICTION TEXTS
In readers notebook we continued exploring ‘Determining Importance’ through texts we re-read our class picture book, ‘Teacup’. After re-engaging with the text, we began discussing importance features to the text that are crucial for us to know. We explored this using a storytelling mountain.
We filled in the storytelling mountain as a class based around our picture book, ‘Teacup.’
This afternoon, Mrs Harrison led us through Faceless Art. We incorporated images into Fire Alpaca, which we manipulated to create cartoon versions, but without facial features.
