This Friday we’ll be having a Shared Lunch to farewell our student teacher, Mr Hummel. Mr H has been with us for almost 5 weeks and has done a wonderful job engaging the students in interesting learning and sharing current practices with the staff.
We ask that everyone please brings a plate of savoury food to share or if dessert is a specialty, that would also be very welcome. The lunch will begin at 12:15 so if hot food needs to be brought in, anytime from 12 noon would be fine. Parents are welcome to join us also.
Both HN and DP went to Library together, to make up for Monday’s Public Holiday. Mr Hummel read a great picture book that all of the students enjoyed.
On return to class, students engaged in HASS and Literacy, where they continued to write an exposition on the topic of reconciliation. Students were reminded to include factual evidence including key dates, locations and details about specific events in Australia’s history to support their claims.
Mr Hummel provided some extra website links that students could access to help them with their research. Students will continue to work on this piece of writing for the rest of the week another session this week when the exposition is due.
Some unfinished work samples so far…
Many students have taken this task home to complete at home and will need to bring it back by Friday.
