Week 2 – Classic Catches

Hey sporting superstars!!

Week 2s focus is catching. The more we practice the more often we can catch an object. We would like you to practice your catching at home using what ever sporting equipment you have. You could always use a pair of rolled up socks.

Challenge helps us improve our skills. Use FlipGrid (https://flipgrid.com/1cf3965a) to record yourself performing a catch that tests your skills.

This is Mrs Cooymans and my efforts.

Have fun!

Ps. Don’t do dives unless you know how to land safely.

Week 1 – Trick Shot Challenge

Hey students,

Here is a challenge for you. Im sure you have seen trick shots on YouTube, Instagram and other forms of socials. We are going to create our challenge platform using FlipGrid. We have set a challenge for you, our focus is a target shot. See if you can match or better ours 🙂 Use this link:     https://flipgrid.com/0f8238bb

To login into FlipGrid you use your school email and laptop password. See the image below.

Your task is to record your trick shot and publish it to the FlipGrid. This challenge is mainly aimed at Years 2-6 as you all have your own laptop, although R-1s can join in if they can access the FlipGrid.

Have fun and be creative! We look forward to seeing your trick shots 🙂

Online PE Learning

Good morning parents,

Myself and Leanne are currently in the process of planning and designing a range of activities and exercises students can view and access whilst learning from home.

We are planning fun and engaging activities that align to the curriculum. Stay tuned to the PE blog as we will be including a range of resources, content and activities.

Our aim is to ensure your children are remaining active and balancing the time spent on sitting at a desk on computers with movement and physical challenges.

More information to come!

Swimming Squad 2020

Morning all,

Some confusion has risen about swimming training this week. A squad was going to be selected last week but due to no Holy Family students participating in the SAPSASA carnival (held this Friday) we have held off.

All students that have been attending trials (Years 3-6) or any other perspective students that can swim 25m (Using freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke or butterfly) are encouraged to attend trials tomorrow at The Parafield Gardens Swim School (7:30am)

Thanks everyone

Welcome Back to 2020

The holidays are well and truly over and swimming trials have started the sport year off for 2020. After the final trial tomorrow we will select a squad of students to represent Holy Family at the SACPSSA swimming carnival.

Swimming Carnival: This carnival will be held at Magill University Pools from 1pm -3pm on the 11th of March.

Other carnivals for this term include:

Holy Family Sports Day: All students will be involved in our annual sports day. It will be held at Holy Family again this year on the 3rd of April.

As we move to digital consent forms please take note of the return dates as from this date the forms will no longer be accessible via the QKR app.

We look forward to a fantastic year of sport.

Sports Presentation Assembly

Morning all,

This Friday we will be acknowledging all of the students that participated in sporting carnivals in 2019. We have had a large increase in participation this year with students ranging from Year 3 to 6.

We will be rewarding students for fantastic achievements in sport with certificates and medals. We will also present a MVP medal to students who have excelled in numerous sporting carnivals.

We welcome families who can make it down to support their children as many of you parents have supported these children through volunteering their time to supervise at carnivals and also covering carnival fees to pay for buses.

We look forward to seeing you all Friday 9am.
