Tuesday 13 August, week 4

Welcome to Tuesday

Today began we moved our bodies with some dancing with Kaine.

Numeracy

In numeracy Miss Pitt set us the task of finding and counting groups of 30. Some of us used blocks, counters and money. We also challenged ourselves by adding more and counting how many things we had altogether.

Some questioning we had during this time included:
“If you have 22 blocks how many more do you need to get to 30”

“How can you make your tower get to 100?’

Afterwards we made a ruler as a whole class

Prayer

Here are some of today’s prayers:

Navya: Dear God, Thank you for cheetahs and dolphins because they’re pretty

Massa: Dear God, Thank you for all the puppies, Amen

Lowell: Dear God, Thank you for fish because I like how they swim, Amen

Lina: Dear God, Thank you for my bird, Amen

Abel: Dear God, Thank you for spiders, Amen

Ivan: Dear God, Thank you for giraffes, Amen

Shared Reading

We continued our reading of “Peter Pan”

Writers Workshop

We wrote lots of stories today and used resources like the letter wall to help with words we didn’t know.

When R/1GC went to music R/1TD shared their stories with one another. It was great to listen to our peers read and show stories to each other

Investigations

Lots of playing and learning was going on this afternoon. Some of the activities included making Peter Pan costumes for the Barbies, making with boxes, making dinosaur “lands” and Lego.

Our Speaks of Gold

Athian: My speck of gold was playing the laptops

Adhip: My speck of gold was playing with the Lego

Lowell: My speck of gold was doing Investigations and making something

Ekmann: My speck of gold was playing paper, scissors, rock with Mrs Huang

Lina: My speck of gold was my friends and flowers
