Tuesday 20th August

Today we had our last dancing session with Kaine. Over the past few weeks we have learnt lots of new dance moves and have had lots of fun. Thanks so much for visiting us, Kaine!

Shared Reading 

Today we read our shared text again “Sleeping Beauty”. We then drew and/or wrote about the beginning, middle and ending of the story.

  

R/1GC: Music 

R/1TD: Whilst R/1GC were at music R/1TD did Come Read with Me and then afterwards we played “Book Detective”. We looked through our books carefully to find so many different things such as full stops, words, the front and back cover

Mindfulness 

Investigations 

Lots of activities were set up for us this afternoon. Some of them included play dough, making crowns, drawing and lego.

Porsha: My speck of gold was playing with Grace and Sophia on the oval and we were playing with the truck and running around.

Lowell: My speck of gold was making my power crystal.

Yasmin: My speck of gold was making my crown.

Massa: My speck of gold was playing basketball with my sister.

Athian: My speck of gold was learning on the laptops.

Navya: My speck of gold was dancing.

Lina: My speck of gold was the playground.

Korbyn: My speck of gold was the playground.

Tuesday 13 August, week 4

Welcome to Tuesday

Today began we moved our bodies with some dancing with Kaine.

 

Numeracy

In numeracy Miss Pitt set us the task of finding and counting groups of 30. Some of us used blocks, counters and money. We also challenged ourselves by adding more and counting how many things we had altogether.

Some questioning we had during this time included:
“If you have 22 blocks how many more do you need to get to 30”

“How can you make your tower get to 100?’

Afterwards we made a ruler as a whole class

Shared Reading

We continued our reading of “Peter Pan”

Writers Workshop

We wrote lots of stories today and used resources like the letter wall to help with words we didn’t know.

When R/1GC went to music R/1TD shared their stories with one another. It was great to listen to our peers read and show stories to each other

 

Investigations

Lots of playing and learning was going on this afternoon. Some of the activities included making Peter Pan costumes for the Barbies, making with boxes, making dinosaur “lands” and Lego.

Fitness 

 

Healthy Foods

After fitness we used catalogues and magazines to cut out our favourite foods. We had fun chatting with our friends about the foods we love. We will use these cut outs again later to sort healthy and unhealthy foods. 

 

 

Writers Workshop 

Today we focused again on our writing, trying to write as much as we can. Some of us chose to write about the Three Little Pigs (the shared reading text we have been reading all week

)

Investigations 

 So many activities….such as playing with the Barbies, making costumes, lego, play dough and dinosaurs.

Today we were fortunate to start the day off again with dancing with Kaine

We worked in small groups focusing on writing sentences. We did lots of writing.

Investigations

During investigations today we squeezed lemons and mixed it with water to make lemon juice. Before home time we spoke about where lemon juice comes from and why it is a healthy drink.

Tuesday week 1, Term 3

Welcome to Tuesday!

Today we started our day off by some indigenous dancing with Simon. We had lots of fun trying to copy the actions especially when he went really fast!
