Come Read with Me

This morning we chose new books for our Choice Reading Boxes and spent some time reading them. These are the 3 books we have chosen for the week.

At home tip: You can read for 20 minutes with your library books or the books you have at home. You can read to you or a sibling, you can even read to your favourite teddy! Remember to use the pictures to help tell the story and to look for words and letters that you know.

Shared Reading

Today for Shared Reading we used our knowledge of the Shared Reading story to make about what the book is about.

Zac: We are building a road

Declan: We are building with a tractor

Will: We are putting up the signs

Yasmin: We are going to do plants

Bodhi: We are building the lights on the road; they’re putting them up.

Scarlett; When the road was done the cars drive around

Nyok: we are loading up the dirt

Oliver: The road is all safe

Campbell: They’re putting the stencils so they know where to build the road

Simon: We are cleaning the road

Massa: They say “hooray”

Brodie; They layed concrete on the road

Long: They helped each other

Ethan: They are building with rocks

At home tip; You can make a sentence about one of the books you love.

Literacy Learning Experiences

We engaged in our Literacy Learning Experiences, exploring and building all of our literacy skills.

At home tip; Have a look at our blog from yesterday to see our literacy focuses for this week and to see ideas of how you can access this learning at home: https://blogs.holyfamily.catholic.edu.au/r1gtr1ma2020/2020/03/23/monday-23rd-march-2020/

Music and Spanish

Letter of the Week – Rr

When we came back from Music and Spanish we explored our letter of the week by brainstorming words that start with R.

At home tip; What words do you know that start with R? Can you write them on a piece of paper or in a book?

Mindfulness

After lunch we had some time to be mindful. Today we listened to a mindfulness story…

Investigations

We explored our interests during Investigations. Play based learning gives us the opportunity to learn in a way that we like. By learning in our own way we deepen our understandings and build life-long knowledge and skills.

At home tip; This is a time for you to explore your interests through play. Think about what you can use at home. If mum lets you, you could even do some cooking or help out with other things we do around the house. Remember that no matter what were doing we are always learning. You could use Lego to make and build. You could draw pictures. You could even teach a sibling or your favourite teddy something new! What are your ideas for Investigations at home?
