Come Read with Me
We began the morning with Come Read with Me.
At home tip: You can read for 20 minutes with your library books or the books you have at home. You can read to you or a sibling, you can even read to your favourite teddy! Remember to use the pictures to help tell the story and to look for words and letters that you know.
Shared Reading
We read our Shared Reading book Koala Lou. While we were reading we looked for our letter of the week Kk, every time we saw a word that began with the letter K we touched our knees. This helped us identify the letter in a text.
At home tip; you can access this text from home via YouTube; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4vEj8TMkW4
Choice Reading Boxes
We used our Choice reading books to find the letter Kk. Mrs Tyrcha put a timer on for 7 minutes and we had to find and record the letter as many times as we could.
At home tip; You can find the letter k in your library books! When you find a k record it on a scrap piece of paper or a sticky note. Set a timer, how many times can you find “k” in 7 minutes?
Literacy Learning Experiences
We continued our Literacy learning during Literacy Learning Experiences.
At home tip; Have a look at our blog from Monday to see our literacy focuses for this week and to see ideas of how you can access this learning at home: https://blogs.holyfamily.catholic.edu.au/r1gtr1ma2020/2020/03/30/monday-30th-march-2020/
Music and Spanish
We went to our Music and Spanish lessons after Recess.
At home tip; you can access the Spanish blog for some at home Spanish learning, here is the link; http://blogs.holyfamily.catholic.edu.au/spanish/
Letter of the Week – Kk
After eating our Brain Food, we brainstormed words that begin with K.
At home tip; What words do you know that start with K? Can you write them on a piece of paper or in a book?
Extension; Can you write these words in a sentence?
Mindfulness
We spent time after lunch being mindful and getting our bodies ready for an afternoon of learning.
Investigations
We explored our learning through play and investigations.
At home tip; This is a time for you to explore your interests through play. Think about what you can use at home. If mum lets you, you could even do some cooking or help out with other things we do around the house. Remember that no matter what were doing we are always learning. You could use Lego to make and build. You could draw pictures. You could even teach a sibling or your favourite teddy something new! What are your ideas for Investigations at home?
