Tuesday (Term 1 | Week 10)

Welcome learners and educators!

ART & CRAFT

We began the day with our art and craft project; we are making papier-mâché animals. Today Lowell is making a kangaroo, Kyle is making a monkey and Anthony is making a dog. These animals will join the gorilla and unicorns started yesterday.

Papier-mâché projects require resilience and patience,  as they take time and effort., We are practising developing these skills as we proceed through the different stages of the project.

Home learning tip: Check out yesterday’s blog for details of the project and what you need to undertake this activity at home.

Photographs to follow later in the day.

RECESS

A special recess treat today as we enjoyed our chocolate frogs in jelly, which we prepared yesterday.

FOOD TECHNOLOGY

Tomorrow Scarlett will be celebrating her sixth birthday at home with her family. So today we made chocolate cupcakes and added decorations to make them look attractive.

Home learning: Making and decorating cupcakes is great for skills development; reading/viewing  and following instructions; measuring ingredients and using fine motor skills when decorating.

Here is a simple recipe for fun cupcake making. The link includes a video to follow as well as written instructions.

NUMERACY

Today we are exploring word problems involving addition.

Home learning tip: You can download the problem solving cards here if you would like to try this activity at home.

World Stories has  books for you to read with your child in many different languages – why not share a story in your first language?

  1. Thank you for sharing the story.Ayan noted that the boy had skin hand (left hand) and also they missed the spot( didn’t clean the spot behind the door 😊)

    • A student in class noticed that too. I’m glad Ayan enjoyed the story and was so observant. Well done, Ayan!
