Friday (Term 1 | Week 10)

Welcome to the final student learning day of Term 1. What a journey it has been for everyone! We hope all our families are well, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in the future. Stay safe over the vacation.

There are some great video resources around that are useful in helping to explain Covid-19 to children. You may find the following useful:

Our focus this week has been on the beginning of Holy Week.  Palm Sunday begins with the story of Jesus entering the city of Jerusalem.  When the children entered our classroom this morning they gathered at the Palm Sunday scene and talked about the props and recounted parts of the story.

The children continued their learning of The Easter story in their Learning Journals.

Visit to the Fish Farm with Miss McCarthy

The children went to see the new Purple Spotted Gudgeon.  It is  Australian animal and an endangered species.  Here is some information about them or you can just Google the information on a device.

Next week, Week 11 is a pupil free week; the teaching staff at Holy Family will be in school on these days and will be planning and creating resources for online learning for Term 2 in the event that schools close or schools remain open but some families continue to want to home-school their child(ren).

On Thursday 9th April Reception and Year 1 teachers will be making contact by telephone with families to discuss family/student wellbeing, your child’s learning across Term 1, access to technology at home (including IT equipment available to learners at home) and, where appropriate, student home-learning – challenges and successes.

Meanwhile, Margot and Jo should like to wish you all a peaceful, safe and happy Easter.
