Ecology

Our focus on Ecology comes from our faith. As a Catholic community, we feel connected to God’s creation. We are all called to protect our natural environment. This approach permeates everything we do.

Education for sustainably develops the knowledge, skills, values and world view necessary for people to act in the ways that contribute to more sustainable patterns of living. It enables individuals and communities to reflect on ways of interpreting and engaging with the world.

Recycling and composting are part of daily life in Holy Family classrooms. As well as this 2RG and 2JH students will be involved in planting and maintaining a garden bed outside their classroom (Rooms 4 and 5). They will also visit the school’s MUDLA and Fish Farm to continue to learn about native creatures and the local environment, as well as engaging in a range of associated STEaM (Science, Technology, Arts and Mathematics) activities.

Laudato Si – Pope Francis asked us to care for our common home.
