Wednesday – Week 1 Term 1

What a wonderful, warm Wednesday we shared today. After morning organisation we headed to the playground for some exercise as due the expected high temperatures we knew we would probably be spending lunch time inside.

Thank you to the parents who have returned the notes already. As I said in the information about the class communication I will use the blogs at different times during the week to share learning and information and I will ‘Highlight’ particular aspects of learning in each post. I am currently confirming blog permission before I post photos of the children. The blog provides a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to revisit their learning and their day through discussion.

After recess we went to to library to enjoy the shared text ‘Three’ by Stephen Michael King.

Each student borrowed 5 books – 2 picture books and 3 levelled readers. Please enjoy sharing these books with your children every night. Every Wednesday the students will return and borrow new books to enjoy. Reading everyday  is essential to developing confident, independent readers. Today we enjoyed reading Pete the Cat as an animated text and the children read the Big Book ‘Where is the green sheep?’ to me.

Our tasks then continued to focus upon creating our learning community where the students are reflected in the environment. There was a lot of discussion as the students shared information about themselves as they drew on cube template. Then our discussions and recording continued after lunch as we revisited our “What is our Super Power?’. Please come and have a look at the display in our room.

See you tomorrow

Michelle
