Our Learning Today
Literacy Rotations
After we read the shared text we moved into our literacy groups.
Year 1 – Exploring the digraph -‘ow’
Blending sounds within words, by playing a game outside with a ball. The ball was bounced to a partner for every sound within a word. ( c-ow – 2 bounces)
High Frequency Words – The children then bounced the ball for every letter in a high frequency word.
Reception children – creating a clown from coloured paper and then recall and writing ‘c’ words.

Today we had 5 Early Learning Centre children come for a visit to our classroom. These children will be part of the reception intake for Term 3.

Today we explored two tasks –
- Collecting data about our favourite animals – next week the children will represent this information.
- Sorting a group of animals into a graph – next week we will look at reading information from the graph.
