Learning Powers at Log Park

While RAM were at sport, RGC went to log park. While we returned to class we spoke about how we were using our Learning Powers while we were there.

Lakyn: I used Mr Parrot’s learning power, creativity

Guneet: I used creativity to make a house

Matilda: I used collaboration to make the letter T with Katrina

Gurshaan: I used my curiosity to make numbers

Ekmann: I used creativity to make the fire

Jackson: I make the number one, I used my curiosity

Hudson: I used my belonging because I was playing and having fun with my friends

Grace: I used my hope and optimism becasue I was playing with my friends

Sara: I make a see-saw, I used Mr Giraffe’s learning power, curiosity

Krish: I was building with the stairs and I used Mr Parrot’s learning power, creativity

Catholic Identity Day

To celebrate Catholic Identity Day on Friday, we will be having a shared lunch. We will be joined by REF & REQ, 1EN & 1SA, and 2TD. Please bring a plate of savoury food to share. Shared lunch will take place in the classroom and on the tables in the courtyard (weather permitting). We will begin eating at approximately 12:30pm.

We will also be sharing a liturgy on Catholic Identity Day. This will be held at 11:30am in the hall. You are welcome to join us for our liturgy and our shared lunch, which will be held after liturgy.

About Catholic Identity Day

On Friday 29th June, Holy Family Catholic School will be celebrating our catholic identity, showcasing it to the school and community. We will be working with The Village and year 1 and 2 children. See below for the outline of our day.

8:50am – Meet in class for the roll
9:00am – Assembly in the hall
9:30am – Investigations with The Village. Children will explore scripture, symbols and songs
10:45am – Recess eating in class
11:00am – Recess play
11:30am – Liturgy in the hall
12:30pm – Shared lunch
12:50pm – Lunch play
1:30pm – Mindfulness in class
1:40pm – Catholic Identity Day Reflection
2:30pm – Assembly in the hall
3:00pm – Home time

Yard Clean

Vince from Bunnings Parafield Gardens visited our reception courtyard and cleaned our area. We were very grateful and enjoyed watching the process!

Investigations at the Fish Farm!

Today we took our investigations to the Fish Farm and Log Park! We enjoyed utilizing the space and it was fantastic to see the children flow enthusiastically around the provocations and embrace the outdoors!

We saw the children help with feeding the fish, identifying the different types of fish and making connections. We also had children enter log park for a camp fire! They sat around with their learning power puppet friends and engaged in pretend play.

We were very excited to also have our learning power puppets come with us to investigations.

Today in numeracy we explored the following provocations:

I was drawing numbers and I was using Mr Teddy (hope and optimism) – Ethan B

I was making towers and we were seeing how long they were, they were the same height but one was 31 and one was 45 blocks- Annabella
