Week 5- Monday

Hello 1EJ and 1 CZ and welcome to Week 5!

We hope you are all taking care and staying well. Below are a few more activities if children are wanting something to do some learning at home. Once again, there is no pressure for anything to be completed as your health is our main priority.

Reading

This weeks reading strategy is ‘Lips the fish’ When you get stuck, say the first few sounds. Read to the end of the sentence and then read the sentence again. Try using this strategy if you get stuck.
See if you can read at least 2 books a day and record your reading in your Reading Diary so we can celebrate your progress when you are back in the classroom.

Phonics & Writing

Today’s sound of the day is the /D/ sound. Watch this video to learn more about the /d/ sound. Practise the action as you sing along:

You may like to practice writing a row of lowercase (d) and upper case (D). See if you can think and record any words that contain  the /d/ sound.

Try completing our interactive writing sentence for the day.

‘Danny the dingo went dancing with…’

Numeracy

Draw and cut out the shape of a cloud using any size paper you have at home. Choose a teen number and write this number in the middle of your cloud. Have a go at making a paper chain, as shown below representing the tens & ones.
Connect the chains to a cloud so it looks like rain.

Take a break!

Take a break and enjoy some time outside in the sunshine! Kick a ball, run some laps or even have a go at one or more of the yoga poses below:
