Week 11

Welcome to the last week of term! We had a wonderful and busy week this week with sports day and preparing for the break. Through out the week students have showed their progression in their learning where they discovered counting by twos and how to create complex sentences by adding more information into each sentence.

Literacy

In word study this week students looked at all the sounds we have learnt over the term and how we can put these sounds together to make CVC words like dog, cat, leg.

In bookmaking we have been looking at creating strong sentences.

Sports Day

Numeracy

In Maths this week we have been focusing on how to count by 2s to 120. The children engaged in a variety of hands on activities to practise their counting skills.

Congratulations to Monairene for reading 25 nights!

Technologies

In technologies this week, we explored and researched food from different cultures. The students were asked to draw their favourite food and the country’s flag that it originates from.

We wish all the children and families a safe and happy break and look forward to seeing you all on the 29th of April for Term 2!

  1. What amazing week of learning. Audrey looks so proud to share her sentence writing. I was very proud of her hard work in class and her huge efforts this sports day.

Even though the hangry’s started to take over towards the end, she participated in every event for the first time.
She was absolutely stoked to tell her Oma and Opa about her day. With Nanny and Poppy excited to relive the day through the class blog.

Thankyou so much to everyone for supporting and guiding Audrey to settle into year one. She is having a blast, and has such a passion for learning. Which has definitely grown since the year has begun.
Enjoy your well deserved term break.
