Christmas Carols

Hi all,

As most of you are aware we have our Christmas Carols coming up this Thursday on the 5th of December. We have attached below the two songs that we will be preforming on the night for students to practice at home if they would like too. We have been

On the big day it would be great to see all the students in christmas colours (red, green and white). Please ensure sensible footwear is worn so that the children can feel comfortable and confident in dancing on the stage.

In science we have been looking at how to take care of plants

In technology we created boats using recyclable materials.

 

 

Term 3 week 3

Welcome back to other busy week in 1KS and 1EJ!

Just a reminder that we are currently designing boats for design and technology and we would love it if students could bring in recyclable items for us to use in the building process.

In word study we have continued looking at consonant blends that are blended with ‘r’ and the HFW ‘saw’

Term 2 week 7

Hi all welcome back to a very short week of learning in 1KS and 1EJ. It was amazing to see everyone get straight back into learning after the short break!

 

In Literacy this week, we have been studying the long a sound that can be represented in different was like, a_e, ay and ai. Check out some of our amazing sentences.

 

In Maths, We have been looking at how to problem solve worded problems. We looked at reading the problem, looking at the key words and figuring out what equation we needed to solve it.

 

In Art, we continued looking at shapes and how we can use them creatively to make new monsters.

 

 

Week 11

Welcome to the last week of term! We had a wonderful and busy week this week with sports day and preparing for the break. Through out the week students have showed their progression in their learning where they discovered counting by twos and how to create complex sentences by adding more information into each sentence.

 

Literacy

In word study this week students looked at all the sounds we have learnt over the term and how we can put these sounds together to make CVC words like dog, cat, leg.

In bookmaking we have been looking at creating strong sentences.

Sports Day

 

Numeracy

In Maths this week we have been focusing on how to count by 2s to 120. The children engaged in a variety of hands on activities to practise their counting skills.

Technologies

In technologies this week, we explored and researched food from different cultures. The students were asked to draw their favourite food and the country’s flag that it originates from.

We wish all the children and families a safe and happy break and look forward to seeing you all on the 29th of April for Term 2!
