Welcome to Harmony Week where we celebrated the amazing diversity of this community! We began the week sharing this beautiful song about belonging.
Our focus letters were f, b and l
Our focus words were she and it.
Mathematics- This week, we have been doing lots of learning to do with ‘counting by 5s’.
On Wednesday, the students worked with a partner to count by 5s. They used match sticks and labelled their learning:
HASS: We are learning how everyday life has changed from the past.
We viewed some videos from the 1900’s. We talked about how lots of the technology that we have today wasn’t around in the past and a lot of things had to be done by hand – making butter was one of those!!! we then worked together to make our own butter using just a jar, some cream and a lot of man power.
Success Criteria: I can share / draw how everyday life is different from past to present.
Congratulations to Julian who has achieved 25 nights of reading! Well done!
HARMONY DAY
Low budget butter is now in production at our house, thanks! ‘It tastes better’ and now a muffin recipe to use the butter milk.
And there’s some very proud counting by 5s. She’s really conceptualised it!
We love hearing when our learning in class follows the students home!
