Market Day- On Wednesday, Holy Family Catholic School hosted Market Day, where Year 5 and 6 students had the opportunity to create their own businesses and produce various items for sale at their stalls. The students thoroughly enjoyed the event, offering a wide range of products including slime, paper planes, candies, s’mores, milkshakes, and more. In addition, students participated in a dance party, a bean bag toss game, and had the chance to spin the prize wheel. Below are some photos capturing the highlights of the day.
Mathematics- In mathematics, after becoming proficient in skip counting by 10, we have now advanced to skip counting by 5s. The students used matchsticks to create collections of five and then recorded the corresponding skip counting numbers next to them. Several students worked diligently to reach the number 200.
Religion- For religion this week, we have explored some of the stories from Holy Week. We focused on Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday. The students had to write a sentence about what happened on each event and relate the story to their life somehow.
