Technologies- At the end of last term, our students put on their designer hats and planned their very own cubby houses. They created detailed drawings, showing both a front-on view and a bird’s eye view of their ideas.
This week, their designs came to life. Using boxes and a range of materials, the students built their cubby houses:
English- We have been learning about the ‘bossy e’! The children discovered that when the letter e appears at the end of some words, it becomes “bossy”—it tells the vowel before it (like a, o, or i) to say its name instead of its sound (e.g., cap becomes cape).
During our lessons, students take part in a whole-class session where we revise tricky words, sounds, and digraphs, and practice reading and writing words and sentences. Afterwards, they complete an independent task to show their understanding of the concept.
