Hi parents/caregivers

I am excited to announce that I will be the classroom teacher for 5KF for the remainder of the year! It’s wonderful to be back, and it has been fantastic to see all the kids and receive such a warm welcome.

This week, we have been focusing on these subjects:

Maths:
– Understanding 12-hour and 24-hour time formats.
– Learning the differences between the two types of time.
– Reading and writing time in the 24-hour format.
– I’ve hung two clocks in the room, each set to a different time throughout the day. Students are required to write these times in the 24-hour format.

Science:
– Exploring animal adaptations.
– Students are working on an assessment project where they choose an animal and create a poster detailing its location, environment, habitat, and both structural and behavioral adaptations.

Religion:
– Focusing on Caritas and the story of a woman named Ronita.
– Students will create a 1-2 minute video explaining Ronita’s life and comparing it to their own lives and those of others.

Art:
– Studying Aboriginal Art.
– Students followed a procedural video on “How to Draw a Kangaroo” and then created backgrounds incorporating Aboriginal symbols, patterns, colors, and designs.
– The results are fantastic, and I am very proud of their work!

Writers Workshop:
– Writing humorous narratives.
– Learning about the elements involved in creating a humorous story.
– Exploring different types of humor, including sarcasm, puns, and suspense.

Thank you for your continued support!
