Nina Marni every one and welcome to our weekly blog.
Our learning Intention one is to refine and establish the daily routine that supports consistency and predictability for children (especially new children) and educators yet remains responsive to the needs of the community.
Why: The establishment of predictable routines supports children to understand what to expect in their day and provides a sense of comfort and supports the development of resilience as children are aware of the events in their day which in turn contributes to children’s ability to self-regulate.
• When educators create environments in which children experience mutually enjoyable, caring, and respectful relationships with people and the environment, children respond accordingly.
• When children participate collaboratively in everyday routines, events and experiences and have opportunities to contribute to decisions, they learn to live interdependently.
• Predictability and consistency are important for children as it provides them with a sense of safety and understanding about what will happen next in their day. It is also important that educators make judgements in the moment that will best support the wellbeing of all.
• Collaborative room agreements made between children and educators ensure children feel heard and safe within their environments.
