Preschool and LDC4 Term 2 Week 9 Blog

Nina Marni everyone ! Welcome to our weekly blog 🙂

Learning Intention 1: To nurture each child’s wellbeing as they begin their progression to Pre School.

Why: As children approach the transition to preschool, they may be experiencing certain feelings such as fear, uncertainty and nervousness

To support the implementation and understanding of positive education practices and re-introduce the concept and language of ‘bucket filling’ and ‘specks of gold’

Why: Positive education is an approach to education that draws on positive psychology’s emphasis of individual strengths and personal motivation to promote learning.

The children enjoyed engaging in construction play and working together to build to their imagination. When packing up, children were encouraged through using bucket filling language. The children know how to be bucket fillers and this language will continue to be used through out their transition to school.

The children participated in numeracy experiences. They explored number and shape through a range of experiences such as counting, writing, building and tracing shapes.

The children also engaged in outdoor play where they continued to find insects and extend our inquiry.

The children engaged in sensory play through making play dough, and playing with coloured rice.

The children also enjoyed engaging in pretend play and reading stories with their teachers.

The children continued to explore insects this week through engaging in colouring insects, finalising making their bees, and finding insects in the outdoor environment.
