Holy Family Early Learning Blog LDC3 /Term 3 /week 1

Nina Marni beautiful Children and all their lovely Families, Welcome to our Blog for term 3 /week 1

Learning Intention 1

To support new children from Long daycare 3 and their families to develop a sense of belonging in the LDC4/ Preschool learning environments as well as help existing children develop relationships within their community and throughout our Holy Family Early Learning Environments.

Why

In early childhood settings children develop a sense of belonging when they feel accepted, develop attachments and trust those that care for them. As children are developing their sense of identity, they explore different aspects of it (physical, social, emotional, spiritual, cognitive), through their play and their relationships. We have some new children and families joining our community this term who will need support adjusting to our Preschool Rhythms, Rituals and Routines.Children have a right to belong to a community and it is important that they are supported to develop this understanding. Through developing this understanding, children are supported to broaden their understanding of the world and their place and role in it.After a period of time away from the Preschool environment, it is important to re-engage and remind the existing children of the rhythms, rituals and expectations of Holy Family Early Learning.

Our learning spaces present our identity and provide us with sustainability with being responsible and taking care of our own natural environments.

Learning Intention 2

Starting from scratch – what is a book? What is the purpose? Who reads books? Who writes books? What do they look like?

Teachers will use information gained about prior knowledge to decide next steps.
