By explore a variety of enriching experiences which caters to the interests and imaginations of young learner’s. As well as following of sustainable practices, which could lead to inquiry.
Why:
- Ensuring our holiday season is filled with laughter and adventure.
- By giving children the opportunity to explore a variety of nature play, it engages them in sensory play and allows them to discover new exciting materials.
- This helps to enhance a child’s critical thinking, brain development and language development, which gives them the ability to build towards more complex learning tasks in the future.
- Exploring the work around us in which God created for us
- Also an amazing opportunity for the children who are going to school in janaury to see the learning environemnts that Holy Family has to offer and get them school ready
Outdoor play in our learning environments helps children to build friendships, teamwork, and confidence. Whether they’re running through sprinklers with friends or playing games with educators. These moments create core memeories for children as well as their learning. Running, laughing, and getting soaked together isn’t just great for cooling off—it’s also a wonderful way for friends to join the fun, setting aside distractions and connecting with their besties.
Nature play offers an opportunity for children to experience belonging. Experiencing belonging is a key component of the Early Years Learning Framework and acknowledges children’s interdependence with others and the base of relationships in defining identities. Many children feel a strong connection to land and country based on their family, cultural group, wider community. This also gives us the opportunity to connect with God and the world in which he created.
When children practice self-help skills such as feeding , cleaning, washing, dressing themselves, they practice their large and small motor skills, gain confidence in their ability to try new things and build their self-esteem and pride in their independence. It will also helps to keep our environment clean and tidy.

Provide opportunities for the children to further develop their Gross and fine motor skills during play experiences
Why:
- Fine and gross Motor skills help children to navigate the world with confidence.
- Children become more confident with a skill, gradually make smooth
- Strengthing social and emotional development – with interations with others
- Engage children in active activities every session where and when possible
Gross motor skills are important to all children to perform every day tasks, such as walking, running, playground skills (climbing) and sporting skills. Preschoolers need to engage in both fine and gross motor activities to help them learn the foundational movement skills required for everyday life as they grow and develop. Fine motor development can be learnt alongside gross motor development, as both critical for their learning.
