1. The Chinese people us the lunar calendar.  New year can land in January or February. Each year new year is on a different date. The lunar calendar follows the moon.

2. Chinese people celebrate Chinese new year by using fireworks to scar away any bad spirits. They also have the Chinese loin or dragon dance. They have a big banquet with there friends and family. The grown ups give out red envelopes to there children.
