Book Week is Just Around the Corner!

This year, we are celebrating Book Week in Term 4 Week 2… and boy, do we have some special things planned!
We currently have a poster competition, where students are challenged to design their own poster (either digitally or by hand) to advertise this year’s theme: “Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.” The winner will see their work proudly plastered around the school in the lead up to the big week! Open to all year levels, we encourage students to be creative and original with their ideas. (Please note: entries close Wednesday week 10 Term 3). Please see PDF link for more information:
Book Week Poster Competition!

On Thursday the 22nd of October, we are hosting a special Book Week interactive show, by Perform Education, titled The Greatest Discovery!
We’ll be taken on a journey to explore the magic behind some of the CBCA shortlisted books! Two shows will take place across the school…
9am: ELC to Year 2
10:45am: Year 3 to Year 6
Please see program overview for more information:

Hopefully, this will set the mood for the day that we’ve all been waiting for…. the day of the Book Week parade! Scheduled to take place on Friday the 23rd of October. So here’s your reminder to start thinking about what to dress up as this year! Extra points to those who are able to co-ordinate a costume with this year’s “Curious Creatures, Wild Minds” theme 😉

All the best for the end of term 3, and we look forward to a busy, fun-filled Term 4!

Shortlisted books for 2020

CBCA recently announced the shortlisted books for 2020!

We have ordered the full selection for Picture Books, Early Childhood and look forward to adding these to our library collection! The book of the year for each category will be announced in Term 4. Please note that Book Week is also postponed to Term 4, due to our current situation.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Easter break, and hope to see you back in the library next term!

Blessings,

Miss Loren and Ms Vaughan
