Long Day Care Learning reflection, Term 1, Week 11

Dear families, welcome to Long day Care Learning Reflection, week 11.

Learning Intention 1:

To encourage children’s expression of ideas through collaborative arts-making experiences in Visual Arts.

Early Years Learning Framework, Outcome -5, Children are effective communicators. Children express ideas and make meaning by using a range of media. They use creative arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture to express ideas and make meaning.

Mark making is a regular experience in our Long day Care Room. This week, children explored different patterns and symbols.

Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies, natural and processed materials. Children have been using recycled items with different tools to investigate, imagine and explore ideas.

Painting experience with friends in small group. Children are provided with opportunities to share their ideas, convey and make meaning. The experiences support children to socialise and collaborate.

Manipulating resources to investigate, take apart, assemble, invent and construct.

Making Flowers with a range of materials and resources with friends! Children experience the benefits and pleasures of shared learning exploration by engaging in a learning relationship.

Using their senses to explore natural and built environments.

Reading is an everyday activity for all our young learners. They are interested in their reading indoor as well as outdoor environment. They love to choose the books to view or listen.

Outdoor environment/play is a wonderful way to incorporate movement and exercise into our children’s day. Intentional learning experiences and free play provide them opportunities to learn in a number of different ways.
