Hola (hello) Preschool Families- welcome to our week 5 Blog.
What a wonderful week of celebrating books we have shared. Throughout the week children excitedly entered our environment in their costumes, which initiated a sense of fun right from the get go.
We celebrated books through story tables, shared reading experiences and discussions around the purpose of books and how fortunate we are to have access to them. Using props with our read alouds proved to engage children and create a more interactive experience.
Joining the book week parade was one of our Specks of Gold! how amazing were all of our brave and vibrant learners!
Inquiry Project
Our seeds are sprouting! we noticed:
Emerging Interest: Number
There has been a noticeable engagement in number experiences recently, with children sharing their counting and number recognition. Stemming from Austin’s play, we engaged with various counting collection experiences throughout the week, were children were observed identifying numerals, sorting and classifying objects and developing number lines.
Wellbeing; What makes you happy?
We have been discussing what makes a feel happy in preschool, with children sharing that playing with others makes them feel the happiest. Board games and collaborative projects have been a particular highlight this week and educators are also left feeling their happiest when seeing children playing so respectfully and intentionally.
Trajectories
-continue our explorations of number, counting and categorising
-more discssions around safety, feelings and choices
