Can you find:

  • Pencils or something to write and draw with.
  • A book or paper
  • Books to read
  • Music (for listening, dancing, relaxing)

Good Morning

Why not start our day with one of our favourite songs:

Come Read with Me

We always make time for reading every morning in RHA and R1 MR so please do the same at home. Find a quiet space and a book to read with a family member or yourself.

Can you find these words in your book today:

Learning Buddies

This is our first day of learning from home so we would like you to find a buddy to learn with:

Here is Miss Andersen’s Buddy called Ben.

Here is Mrs Rodgers’ Buddy called Roar.

Shared Text – Pete the cat

Find some brain food to eat while you watch Pete the Cat.

Book Making

Literacy Focus:

Make a book with your learning buddy as the one of the characters.

Where did they go?

What did they see?

How does the story end?

OR

Make a book about your learning Buddy.

What is their name?

Where did you get it from?

OR

Free choice book making

We are all fantastic authors in R1MR and RHA so now is your time to show your families what book making is all about.

  1. Good morning Ms Anderson and Ms Rodgers,

I am Tesi and my mummy is my buddy for the day.

Earlier today I went for COVID test with my buddy. for kids they only swab in nose but for grown up they swabs in nose and mouth. first I was scared but then it was just a tickle.

Me and my buddy just read Kitty Cat and Monkey’s Big Bike.

yesterday I listened to the voice massage that you sent on my dad’s phone.

I can’t wait to get back to Holy Family.

I hope you like my massage.

And I hope have a great day.

    With love,
    Tesi

    • Good Morning Tesi and Learning Buddy Mummy,

It’s lovely to hear from you. I had my test yesterday too but mine felt like a bit more than a tickle I think!
So glad to hear you are doing some reading, keep doing as much as you can.
I can’t wait to get back to Holy Family too, thanks for your message and keep safe

      Miss Andersen 🙂

    • Hello Tesi and Learning Buddy Mummy – so lovely to hear from you. We miss your smiling face and we can’t wait to get back to school. My nose tickled all day after my test and I had to be brave as well. Bye for now – Mrs Rodgers

    • Hi Amandeep and Gurleen,

Thank you for your kind words and commitment to learning, hopefully we won’t have to continue for long!
We would love to see photos of Gurleen’s work – maybe email for now would be easiest and then I can upload some on the blog for others to see if that would be ok with you?

Let us know how you go, thanks again
      Miss Andersen 🙂

  3. Good afternoon Miss Anderson
Today my mummy wrote in my Discovery journal so i could copy her to practice my writing. She wrote today’s date and the name of my learning buddy which is Balfi, my green sheep.
I have copied my mum’s writing and even though it made me very tired, my mum and dad thought my writing was really impressive.

    • Good Afternoon Mason,
I’m so glad to hear that you are using your discovery journal to practice some writing with Mummy.
I would love to see some drawings to tell a story about Balfi – maybe that could be something you give a try tomorrow?
      Keep up the great work!
      Miss Andersen 🙂
