We have shared such a wonderful first week together and we all should be extremely proud of how well each child has adjusted to their new class and our rituals and routines their new class and our rituals and routines.
Some of our English experiences this week included:
- Mark Making
- Bookmaking
- Exploring the shapes of letter
- Name writing
- Playful literacy learning
Some of our Maths activities included:
- One to one correspondence
- Construction
- Number recognition
Our science lesson took place outside where we discussed what makes something living/non-living.
Our HASS lesson involved developing class agreements where children drew what they thought should be rules to keep us safe and happy.
In our religion lesson we focussed on the concept that we are each made in the image of God. We discussed how we are all unique and created self portraits to display in our room.
Some Reminders:
- Please encourage/support your child to unpack their lunch boxes, hats and drink bottles to place in their designated spots and to sign in with their name stones.
- Please note we have children in these classes with anaphylaxis to nuts – no nuts can be brought in to school, including nutella and peanut butter as this would pose a serious health risk.
- Children must wear hats at all times whilst outside during Term 1 and 4 – if you do not have a HFCS hat please bring any hat in for your child so that they can play outside at recess and lunch.
- We apply sunscreen every recess and lunch – if your child needs their own sunscreen please bring this in with their name on it.
- Please label all belongings so it is easy to return if lost.
- We have PE on Mondays
- We have Library on Tuesdays. Please return your library bags on Mondays or Tuesdays to ensure that your child can borrow again.
