Term 2, Week 2 (RCC)

Hello RCC families and children. Welcome to week 2 blog!

This week, we worked on different words, focused on the letter ‘W’ and new heart word ‘she/he’. The interactive writing lessons were fun experiences. Each child participated with enthusiasm and their contribution was beneficial for others. We revisited the checklist of what makes a book finished in our Bookmaking sessions. We read other books by Mo Willems. We had a visual walk through text and made comparisons to his other text. Some students were able to include something in their books that is influenced by Mo Willems.

In Maths, we focused on AABB and AAB patterns. Children used a range of materials and resources, including natural items to learn about patterning.

In Art, we made props and learned to draw caterpillar, butterfly and other pictures from ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ book. Children loved some action songs for their music and movement time.

In HASS, students learned about different groups of people in their lives. They also identified people in our community who keep us safe, help us, or keep places tidy.
