Week 7 in REB

Hello REB families, welcome to our week 7 blog!

this week in English we:

-continued our literacy rotations, focussing on our heart words and segmenting sounds

-deepened our syllabification skills, using instruments

-practiced writing all the letters we have learnt so far

-Wrote a sentence and tried our best to leave spaces between words and use a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end

-discovered creative ways to add text to our books and gave this a go ourselves

In maths we:

-explored what and how information for from the environment is collected and used by First Nations Australians to predict the weather. We used these skills to collect and represent data about the weather.

In Health we:

-discussed what it feels like to trust someone and how it is important to know who we trust in our own lives. We shared our thinking through drawings depicting our own trust networks

In Design and technologies we:

-use our designs developed last week to make our own house for the 3 little pigs. We thought about what the houses would need to ensure the wolf can’t get in.

In Religion we:

-focussed on Catholic symbols and what they mean. We also shared symbols from other religions as they may have special meaning to each of us.

REMINDERS/ANNOUNCMENTS

-Just a reminder to name all belongings. We have a jacket box near the door which is filling up quite quickly. Please have a look in case something belongs to you.

-Library is back to normal next week (Tuesday)
