Hello RCC children and families. Welcome to our weekly blog !
We are so blessed to have Kaiser in our classroom and our learning community.
This week:
In English, we reviewed previously learnt Grapheme and Phonemes, introduced onset and rime words. We co-constructed sentences, ensured writing sentences with correct spacing, upper case letter for first letter of first word and a full stop.
Children are excited to write their Information book in “Book Making” sessions. They are choosing different topics , such as bugs, farm and butterflies.
In Maths, we reviewed counting, numbers, numeral, subitising. Children represented numbers on number line. They developed the understanding about more, fewer, less, equal and worked on numbers that are more than or less than a given number.
In HASS, our Learning Intention was to introduce the ways we can observe, describe and record the features of a familiar place. It was a fun experience as we talked about our senses and went to explore our the outdoor classroom environment, find out all the different features we can touch, feel, see, hear and smell. Children recorded their observation through drawing.
In Health, we talked about body awareness, different parts of the body and the importance of privacy.
In religion, we discussed ‘God will always love me as I am’. Students developed the understanding that they are unique and special, and that their individual qualities are valued and cherished by God. They are loved unconditionally by God, just as they are. We also watched the video of Bible story that illustrates God’s love ‘The Good Shepherd’ and ‘Jesus blesses the children’.
Friday afternoon was very special for RCC classroom as our buddies from 5KH , Dhyani, Massa, Ethan and Hendrix came to help in different types of art and craft, construction experiences.
