Hello REB Families, Welcome back to our final term of the year together.

 

Just a couple of reminders:

-The Spring Fair is this weekend. Many stalls are accepting cash only and there will not be an ATM available

-Next Monday is a Pupil Free Day

-Reports will be emailed in week 9

 

 

This week in English we:

-Revisited Diagraphs learnt last term and investigated the digaraphs ‘ai’ and ‘ay’

-learnt about our new bookmaking spotlight ‘Stories from our lives’ and began crafting books based on our own personal experiences

-Focused on the heart words ‘do’ ‘did’ and ‘not’ and constructed sentence using them.

-read the poem ‘Abby Cat’ in our shared reading

-Learnt about CVC words and used sound graphs to build words together

 

 

This week in Maths we began our new unit on measurement where we:

-compared the length of various objects

-applied topic specific language such as ‘longer’ and ‘shorter’ rather than just big and small.

-collected data in our wider environment and shared our findings with each other

 

This week in science we wondered ‘What is a scientist?’. We discovered that they do more than mix potions and learnt about the concept of inventions.

 

In HASS we focused on First Nations Australians and considered what is important to them and why.
