Hello REB Families, welcome to our week 6 blog.
This week in English we:
-revised syllables and rhyme through initalit activities and learnt about ‘Onset & Rime’
-Read ‘Bogtrotter’ and engaged with activities based on the text
-participated in a variety of writing experiences, including letter formation, name writing and writing headings on our work
-Introduced a new spotlight for our book making.. ‘Illustrations’. We looked at how authors use movement lines to show that characters are moving. We gave this a go in our own books.
In Maths this week we introduced a new unit on ‘equal sharing. We had many discussions around what ‘equal’ means and practiced sharing objects equally through many hands on investigations.
This week in science we practiced the skills of observing, documenting and summarising as we drew and labelled our bean plants.
In Religion we held a class liturgy, where we learnt about Lent and received ashes.
In Health we learnt about ‘body signals’ and how different parts of our body can feel different, when we are feeling different emotions.
