Hello REB Families, welcome to our week 3 Blog.

 

This week in English we:

-Focused on the letter/sound ‘o’ and discovered that it appears in the middle of lots of words

-engaged with the text ‘My Two Blankets’ in our Story book lessons

-added some crafting techniques to our texts  (speech bubbles and big and bold writing) like Mo Willams

-challenged ourselves in our handwriting sessions, using the sounds we have learnt to write words

 

This week in Maths we began our unit of ‘part-part whole’ operations. We worked with different materials throughout the week to discover the different ways that we can portion 10.

 

This week in Health we discussed ways that we show kindness to others

This week in Design and Technologies we continued being Engineers and began designing a solution/plan to make our outdoor courtyard more purposeful and inviting

-REB & RFL will be presenting assembly next Friday at 2pm

 

TRY AT HOME

-Air Writing: watch ‘Letter School’ on youtube (Letters f, i , r , o) after watching children can write the letters.

-sound out words with the ‘o’ in the middle. For example: pop,  top,  cop,  bop,   sop. Ask your child where the sound ‘o’ is.
