Dear RFL families,
Welcome to our Week 3 update for Term 2! It’s been a busy and exciting week filled with learning and discovery.
English
This week, we dove into the world of words, focusing on rhyming words. In our book-making sessions, we worked on designing the front cover of our very own books. The children learned to include a title, a picture, and their name as the author.
Maths
In Maths, we explored the concept of “part-part-whole” and practiced partitioning numbers up to 10. The children used hands-on activities to break numbers into smaller parts.
In Science, our lesson was about shapes and motion. We conducted a ramp experiment to investigate how different shapes roll.
In HASS, we discussed how to care for our special places, like our school and home.
In Religion, we explored the parish community. The children learned about the people and activities that make our parish special, helping them feel connected to this important part of our school’s identity.
In Health, we focused on kindness. Through discussions and activities, the children explored what it means to be kind to others.
In Arts, we designed our own boats and tested whether they would float.
