Term 2 week 6 RFL

Dear RFL families,

Welcome to Week 6!

In English, we explored onset and rime, helping students to break down and build words in fun and interactive ways.

In bookmaking sessions, the children got creative by adding speech and thinking bubbles to their stories – giving their characters voices and thoughts

Our story book lesson focused on the beautiful picture book Grandpa and Thomas

In Maths, we explored measurement, using language like shorter, taller, longer and shorter to compare and describe objects around us.

In Religion, we talked about the different places and times we can pray to God.

In HASS, we looked at birds-eye views and we tried drawing our rooms from above.

In Arts and Design, we brought our outdoor space to life by creating dioramas of our dream outdoor area.

In Science, we investigated what can spin.

TRY AT HOME:

onset and rime – say the beginning sound (onset) like “c-” and add it to the rime “-at” to make “cat”.

describe everyday objects — for example, which spoon is longer, which book is taller, or which toy is shorter.

NOTE: Please bring your library bag on Thursday June 12th, we will be visiting the library to borrow books .
