Week 9 in RFL

Welcome to Week 9!

In English,we dove into the letters M, S, and T, practicing their sounds and shapes. The kids also worked on stretching words into three sounds, like breaking “cat” into /c/ /a/ /t/. In book making, We studied Mo Willems’ books, noticing how he crafts engaging beginnings and endings. The children tried writing their own words to create mini-stories, inspired by his style.

In maths, our focus was on duration—understanding how long things take.

In health, we discussed rules in games and why they matter for fair play.

In science, we explore push and pull forces.

In religion, we learned about different types of prayers, focusing on thanksgiving.

Try at Home:

Help your child practice stretching words into three sounds! Pick simple words like log, moon, fish, or house, and say each sound slowly (/l/ /o/ /g/). Make it a game to see how many words they can stretch!
