Week 3 in RFL

Welcome to week 3!

In English we focused on the letters R and O and their corresponding sounds. Our book-making sessions continued with a deeper dive into diagrams. This week, we introduced different types of diagrams.

In Maths, we kept building on our skills with counting up to 100. We also introduced addition with single and double-digit numbers, using hands-on activities and games.

In Health, we discussed the important topic of safe and unsafe secrets.

In Science, we explored objects and their materials.

In HASS and Arts, we continued our focus on Aboriginal art, diving deeper into its cultural significance. We tried dot painting and storytelling.

In Religion, we celebrated Mary MacKillop’s Feast Day, honoring Australia’s first saint.

Try at Home: Help your child practice reading words with the letters R and O, such as map, rap, rim, ram, fit, top, rot, tip, it, at, if and am. Encourage them to sound out each word and use them in simple sentences for extra practice!
