RLY & RUF blog – Week 2, Term 1, 2025

Dear families,  welcome to your weekly learning reflection blog for RLY & RUF.

We have had a fantastic and engaging second week in RLY & RUF! The children are becoming more familiar with their new learning environment, daily routines, and classroom experiences. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they explore and settle into school life. This week, our students were particularly excited to engage with the play environment. They eagerly explored different spaces, built friendships, and developed their confidence through various play-based learning experiences. They participated in hands-on activities that supported their early literacy and numeracy development, fostering curiosity and love for learning.

In English, we read the poem ‘Beehive’ and noticed rhyme. We discussed that rhymes sound the same at the end of the word not at the start. We discussed books, and authors, how we can all write books, create our own stories, and illustrate them with drawings.

In Maths, we watched and sang some ‘Number songs’. Students used number pegs, number cards with counters, loose parts, number tracing cards in their learning experiences.

In HASS,

Students developed an understanding that families can look different but share love and care. They also identified and talked about people in their own families. Later, they created a house using pop sticks and drew their family members.

In Health,

Students learned to identify and name different emotions. They also explored how facial expressions and body language show feelings.

In Religion,we talked about God and children developed a simple understanding of God as a loving, caring being who created the world and loves everyone.

We look forward to another wonderful week ahead!

Have a wonderful weekend!
