Hello RLY & RUF families and children. Welcome to our weekly Blog!
It has been a wonderful week 3 in our RLY & RUF as our students continue to settle into their new learning environment. They are becoming more familiar with both the indoor and outdoor spaces, exploring different areas with confidence and curiosity.
This week we have focused on following instructions and routines, helping students navigate their specialist classes with ease. They are developing independence as they learn where to go and what to do throughout the day.
It has also been exciting to see the children engage in their lessons with enthusiasm. From early literacy and numeracy activities to hands-on learning experiences, they are eager to participate and explore new concepts.
In English, we explored literacy through play, listened to engaging storybooks, and discovered new and exciting vocabulary. The children were thrilled to learn that they can be authors too! They have started creating their own books, thinking of different ideas, and illustrating their stories with enthusiasm. It has been rewarding to see their creativity and storytelling skills come to life.
In Maths, students are learning to count confidently from 1 to 20. They are developing their understanding of cardinality and relating their counting to real-life experiences.
In Health, children continued learning about different feelings and emotions. They explored strategies to use when they feel angry or sad, helping them understand how to express and manage their emotions in a safe, kind and positive ways.
In Religion, we discussed Jesus’ love for everyone and how He teaches us to be kind. The children enjoyed watching a video about Jesus and his connection with children, helping them understand the importance of kindness and love in their daily lives.
In art, We experimented with fundamental movements and discussed why and how people experience dance.
We look forward to another great week of learning and growing together! Have a lovely weekend.
