Dear families, what a wonderful and engaging week we’ve had in RLY and RUF!
This week was filled with rich learning experiences and active participation from all our students. From our classroom learning to the important assessments we undertook, the children showed focus, curiosity, and a great sense of pride in their efforts. We are incredibly proud of how they are growing as learners each day!
As part of Reconciliation Week, we explored the themes of love, kindness, and respect. The children participated in meaningful conversations and created beautiful paper hands to symbolise kindness, unity and friendship. These hands now brighten our garden, reminding us daily of the importance of working together and caring for one another.
In English, the children are continually learning new letters and sounds, and how these connect to written letters. They have been exploring consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words, and using their knowledge during story time and in their own book-making experiences. it’s been so exciting to see their ideas come to life through drawing and writing!
In Maths, students are learning Part – Part – Whole, which is a concept that helps children understand how numbers can be broken into two or more parts. For example, if the whole is 6, it can be made – 4 and 2, or 3 and 3. It is supporting them to build understanding of addition and subtraction.
In Health, children learned identifying Emotions in Others.
In Science, the children investigated how materials affect bouncing and described material properties.
